On November 6, US financial authorities issued an order barring US financial institutions from processing transfers to or from MEXC Global. It takes effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.
Authorities alleged that MEXC handled at least $16 billion in transactions linked to sanctions evasion, cybercrime and other illicit activity between May 2021 and May 2026. The allegations include sanctions evasion involving Iran, North Korea and Russia, and direct transactions with sanctioned counterparties. The amount refers to alleged illicit flows, not customer hacking losses or assets frozen by this order.
The ban covers transfers processed by US financial institutions. It does not establish that withdrawals have halted for all users worldwide. The original message did not report a withdrawal halt, but that omission does not confirm that withdrawals are available.
Users should check official notices for the effective date, restrictions in their region and any changes to their deposit or withdrawal routes. They should also review the latest guidance for their account before making a transfer.
